The high temperature - from a heat transfer press - opens the pores of the polymer and allows the gas to enter. When the temperature drops, the pores close and the gas reverts to a solid state. The print then becomes part of the polymer.

Why use Dye Sublimation? Much like Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing, Dye Sublimation offers an alternate process to screen printing, which requires minimums and setups fees per ink color. In contrast, Dye Sublimation has no minimum quantity and no maximum number of colors. It does, however, require the material 100% WHITE polyester to work.

For instance, How big is the print? How much color is involved? How much of that color is solid blocks of color? What we can say is that, because of the lack of set up problems and time, the print will be considerably lower cost than the equivalent image screen printed on a small number of shirts.
